Assignment #7 - Qualtrics/Excel

My survey asked opinions on numbers from 1-11. I spelled out and capitalized each number in the questions in order to reduce possible bias that could come from only capitalizing the first litter (and therefore number) of the sentence. I also made one of the questions a math problem to gauge the population surveyed's experience with numbers.

My experience with twitter so far has been smooth. Of course, this is probably to do with the fact I had already used twitter for a bit, but nonetheless it is easy to use for school-related purposes as well. I do have some issues with making the posts not so dry when using it for class, but I guess that comes with the territory. I did find it interesting how the ads I come across have changed since I began using it for this purpose. Blog #9

The "flipped classroom" is a new approach to education. It involves "flipping" a classroom into an online, interactive format. To do this, a teacher would post instructional material as well as videos and activities online, which would be then accessed by students. This is said to encourage students that may find a classroom boring, or enter a traditional lesson begrudgingly by flipping the format of a lesson into something they go find and access themselves. It is said to increase student participation and engagement and therefore increase the degree of benefit students derive from a lesson. Colin Peaks

My name is Colin Peaks, I'm a junior English major at Florida State. I'm from Jacksonville. I play lacrosse and enjoy writing, weekends, and getting out of class early. The only prior experience with technology is with the computer's word processor and probably minesweeper, sometimes pinball. In school my only exposure to technology was when teachers were first using smart boards so it was relatively chaotic but I'm sure things have smoothed out. What I hope to learn in this class is to efficiently navigate all the school websites I'm expected to, as well as learn how technology has changed the classroom.
