The "flipped classroom" is a new approach to education. It involves "flipping" a classroom into an online, interactive format. To do this, a teacher would post instructional material as well as videos and activities online, which would be then accessed by students. This is said to encourage students that may find a classroom boring, or enter a traditional lesson begrudgingly by flipping the format of a lesson into something they go find and access themselves. It is said to increase student participation and engagement and therefore increase the degree of benefit students derive from a lesson.

Open educational resources, or OER's are websites that allow teachers and students to develop, provide, and access lessons and activities relevant to academics. The website I found https://www.oercommons.org
Provides a platform for teachers to develop lesson plans, and links to other helpful websites. Such other websites include activities that can be linked to lessons or lesson plan ideas for teachers. Specifically, the OER commons website I found provide such aforementioned sites which have been regarded as relevant, secure, and up to date. With the constant shift in education to an online format, it can be expected that these OER resources will come to be much more relevant in years to come. This is not to say they are not already however, as the youngest generation alive today will experience them throughout their academic career.

Through the past two assignments dealing with powerpoint, I have gained not only skills but a far better grasp of the program's capabilities. First of all, I learned how to manipulate the slides with respect to making certain buttons navigate the presentation, and how to make a presentation with a voice-over. I also learned how to add links and save such presentations appropriately. Going forward, I would improve my powerpoint by including all the new skills I have developed, and make each slide easily navigable by including access to all slides within each of them. Below are screenshots of my past two powerpoint assignments.

My experience with twitter so far has been smooth. Of course, this is probably to do with the fact I had already used twitter for a bit, but nonetheless it is easy to use for school-related purposes as well. I do have some issues with making the posts not so dry when using it for class, but I guess that comes with the territory. I did find it interesting how the ads I come across have changed since I began using it for this purpose. Overall I like twitter best when used causally, however I do see the useful application of twitter to an educational format. http://peaksmiddleprep.weebly.com In my experience using weekly.com to make my class webpage I feel I have gained a lot. Although at first I was considerably frustrated, working through the frustration to finally understand the website made it become fun quickly. I had a lot of trouble adding links to the site, and was confused as to how I could change the tabs in the top right-hand corner of the website from the default "ho...
